Original Bow Sling Kit

The original My Sling-a-Ling version works with all bow/quiver combinations, no matter the make or model of the bow or quiver. It is fully adjustable to fit all bows and all shooters.

SLS (Silent Lock System) Bow Sling Kit

Our SLS Bow Sling Kit is specifically designed to attach to Mathews bows equipped with the Mathews Silent Connect System (SCS) posts. The SLS Kit comes with all the same accessories as the original model kit.

Paracord Colors for Custom Slings:

For a $5.00 fee, we will create a custom color bow sling and matching wrist sling for you, using any of the paracord colors shown below. You can choose one-color, or we can braid together any two colors to create your custom slings.

To order custom color slings:

In the Paracord Color drop-down box, select "Custom Color"
Select whether you would like the slings made from one or two paracord colors
Select Color 1 (Color 1 will be the color on the end loop, the center color on the front of the slings, and the color down the sides of the back of the slings. If the 1-color option is selected, the entire sling will be made from this paracord color.)
Select Color 2 (Color 2 will be the color down the sides of the front of the slings, and the color down the center on the back of the slings)

Magnetic Locking System Options

Both models of the My Sling-A-Ling Magnetic Bow Sling utilize a magnetic sleeve that slides up or down the sling to attach to one of the following bow-mounted magnet systems and lock it out of the way during the shot.

The Bow Sling Kits include a Sling Lock magnet and all three bow mounting systems.

In addition to the bow sling, these kits contain our Sling Lock magnet and all three mounting options for the Sling Lock inside the kit. The Sling Lock comes installed on the matching wrist sling, which is ambidextrous. It comes in the package setup for a right-handed shooter, but can be flipped over for left-handed shooters. Pop off the rubber cover and disassemble the Sling Lock magnet from the leather yoke. Next, turn the yoke over, and reattach the Sling Lock magnet. Then remove and reverse the routing of the wrist sling strap through the leather yoke, so it is properly oriented for a left-handed shooter. (When installed, the magnet should always be positioned on the quiver-side of the riser.)

For shooters who don’t use a wrist sling, the kit includes two other mounting options for the Sling Lock magnet. Simply remove the magnet from the wrist sling and install it on your riser using either the included hardware kit or insert it into the pocket of the Sling Lock Strap (a stretchy Velcro strap). It can be attached around the riser of any bow. Including all three mounting options it enables you to buy with confidence, knowing that at least one of the options will be right for your setup. Then when you buy your next bow, you’ll have everything you need to move it to that bow.

Pack Rats

As a bonus, inside the kit we include two Pack Rats. They attach to the nylon webbing on your backpack strap. The quick-release stretch cord strap that enables you to lock-in your bow sling in, so it always rides comfortably on your pack strap, doesn’t slide off your shoulder, and always keeps you hands-free in the backcountry. When it’s time to shoot, simply reach across, grab the outer knot on the cord, and pop it loose to release your sling. They work great with rifle slings as well. You can use them to lock down your hydration bladder hose, so it never gets caught in your bowstring or for attaching other gear to your pack. In the backcountry, these Pack Rats are worth their weight in gold.

How to Properly Adjust the Magnetic Sleeve on the Bow Sling

Always slide the magnetic fastener on the sling up or down to so the sling is tight between the point where it connects to the riser at the top, and the Sling Lock. This will make sure the sling always stays clear of your sight window during the shot, and gravity will perfectly align the magnets to automatically engage, so you can go from shoulder to shot in the shortest time possible.

Troubleshooting Tips:

The magnet in my bow sling seems "weak", or does not “attract” to my Sling Lock magnet.

This is a simple fix. Each magnet has polarity, which means the pull force is directional. Any two magnets will either be attracted to or repel each other depending on the direction they are facing. To correct, simply grab the magnet on the bow sling (through the elastic band) between your thumb and forefinger and flip it over, 180 degrees, so that the side originally facing the paracord is now facing out. This reverses the polarity and the sling should now securely attach to the magnet on your bow’s riser.

If you wear a backpack while hunting or 3D shooting, we recommend using our Pack Rats. They attach to the webbing in your backpack strap and will securely lock your sling to your pack so it never rides off your shoulder. They enable you to carry your bow hands-free in the backcountry, and with their ingenious quick-detach shock cord attachment system, will allow you to quickly access your bow when a shot opportunity presents itself. (They allow you to go from shoulder to shot position in under 3 seconds)

Product FAQs

Which My Sling-A-Ling Bow Sling (the original or the new SLS model) should I choose?

The original model will fit all bow brands/models and shooters of all shapes/sizes. If you shoot a Mathews bow that is equipped with their Silent Connect System (SCS) posts, then you might consider getting our SLS model, otherwise, we highly recommend our original model sling. It is lighter, quieter, has no moving parts, and is less expensive. Both are fully adjustable, but with its incorporated nylon strap near the bottom of the sling, the length of the SLS model can be adjusted slightly faster than the original model. Pro Tip: Rarely does anyone adjust the length. It's typically a "set it, and forget it" thing.

Are the My Sling-A-Ling Bow Slings One Size Fits All?

Yes, both our original and new SLS bow slings are truly One Size Fits All. We have fit kids as young as 4-years of age and guys as tall as 6’ 11” and weighing nearly 400 lbs.

Is the My Sling-A-Ling Bow Sling adjustable?

The original My Sling-A-Ling Bow Sling is fully adjustable. It attaches to each end of the riser of your bow using paracord loops. Depending on which cutouts in the riser through which you insert the loops, and the number of times you wrap them around the riser dictates the length and angle of the sling.

The SLS Bow Sling has all the same great features as our original sling, but also has a nylon webbing section incorporated into the bottom of the sling, which enables you to make quick, on-the-fly length adjustments, similar to how you would adjust a standard rifle sling.

Do I need to purchase any additional accessories?

No. Both the original and SLS Bow Sling Kits come with everything you need to carry your bow and then keep the sling locked safely out out of the way during the shot. Both of the kits also include a set of our Pack Rats to lock your bow sling to your back pack strap when you are on the move.

For the Sling Lock, which riser mounting system do you recommend, the Magnetic Wrist Sling, Sling Lock Hardware Kit, or Sling Lock Strap?

All three riser mounting options are included in the kits. The kit contains one Sling Lock magnet that can be used with each of the mounting systems. You choose which one is best for you and your setup.

If you typically use a wrist sling, we recommend our Magnetic Wrist Sling. It fits most bows, keeps the sling streamlined alongside of the riser (in front of your quiver) during the shot, and keeps your bow set-up looking great with matching paracord on both the bow and wrist sling.

If you choose not to use the magnetic wrist sling, and if you either use a one-piece quiver, or shoot without a quiver, and have an empty lower quiver mounting hole in your bow’s riser (or any other cutout between 3/16” and 1” in diameter in the lower riser), we recommend using our Sling Lock with the Riser Mounting Hardware Kit. It comes with multiple sizes of fasteners to enable mounting to most bow brands/models.

We recommend the Sling Lock Strap for archers who do not like to use a wrist sling and who do not have a suitable hole/cutout in the lower riser of their bow to mount the Sling Lock. The hook-and-loop strap can be easily attached/removed with no tools and works on all bow brands/models.

For your bowfishing rig, we recommend using our Sling Lock Strap. It can be mounted to the line jug on a bowfishing reel or to the lower riser of your bow and will lock the sling out of the way of the crank handle of your reel while retrieving your fish.

Can I use the SLS Bow Sling if my bow does not have the Mathews SCS post system?

Although our SLS Bow Sling was designed for use with the Mathews SCS post system, it does work on all bow brands/models with split limbs. Simply unbuckle the nylon webbing strap at the bottom of the SLS Sling to separate the sling into two parts. Insert the loop at the top of the sling through a cutout in the rear of the upper riser (just below the limbs) and then slip the sling back through the paracord loop to secure it in place at the top. Next, pull the entire top section of the sling up through the top limbs. Repeat the same process with the bottom section of the sling connecting it to the bottom of the riser, and then buckle the sling back together. The SLS sling will hang and carry just as if it was on the Mathews' SCS posts. There is a video in the Installation Videos & Tips section below that demonstrates this process.

Can I connect the original My Sling-a-Ling Bow Sling to the SCS Posts of my Mathews bow?

No, but you can connect it directly to the riser, just as you would on any other bow brand. If you want to connect to the SCS posts, you will need our SLS model.

I ordered the Sling-A-Ling from your website specifically for TAC and it is a game changer. We shot two courses in one day walking around 7 miles in total. It made it so much easier to carry the bow on my shoulder vs. lugging it up and down the hills of the courses. It tucks away very nicely with the magnetic fasteners for each shot.
